Exciting news: New super store now open.
The much-anticipated Next super store at Abbey Centre opened Wednesday 14th December. Next super fan Elliott Kerr was given the honour of cutting the ribbon and officially opening the store - the largest Next in all of Northern Ireland.
Elliott has closely followed the development of the store, having visited every Thursday to check up on progress since works commenced September 2015. Elliott was also the first member of the public to set foot in the new store, having been given a tour by Graeme Jenkins, Next Regional Shopfitting Manager, Friday 9th December.
Mark Stewart, Abbey Centre Manager said; ‘Elliott’s enthusiasm for the new Next store has been inspirational. Along with his dad, he has visited Abbey Centre each Thursday to chart the development progress. His dedication and determination to be the first person to set foot in the new store, deserved reward.
Housed within a purpose-built 43,000 sq ft unit, the new store boosts two floors of retail space. The Next offer includes ladies wear, gents and children's wear, as well as home furnishings. The impressive unit also features a Ground Cafe.
Abbey Centre is also undergoing major re-branding and refurbishment works, together with improved signage, way-finding and a new digital parking system. NewRiver Retail acquired Abbey Centre in August 2014 and since then, together with the Abbey Centre Management team, have worked hard to advance the scheme both in terms of visual aesthetics and the retail / leisure offer. Coming additions to the scheme 2017 include Nando’s and a new Dunnes Stores.
